Petty used to mean something different to me.

It meant sweating the small stuff. Replaying conversations. Giving too much energy to things that didn't deserve it.

Eventually I gave myself a deadline.

Not to stop noticing. To stop carrying.

Fourteen minutes before midnight, pettybetty.ca was born.

Most people think "petty" means small.

Petty is paying attention.

It's noticing the sign that doesn't make sense. The form that asks the wrong question. The policy that everyone follows even though it stopped helping years ago.

The little things everyone steps around because they're "just the way it is."

Petty Betty isn't about complaining.

There is already enough of that.

It's about observation. It's about asking the question that somehow disappeared.

"When did we all decide this was normal?"

Because most broken systems don't arrive all at once.

They arrive as tiny inconveniences. One extra click. One unnecessary subscription. One impossible phone tree. One policy nobody likes but everybody accepts.

Individually they're forgettable.

Together they become the background noise of modern life.

This isn't a place to rant.

It's a place to notice.

Sometimes noticing is enough.
Sometimes it leads to a better question.
And sometimes a better question is where fixing things begins.

Sometimes the simplest Bettys are the hardest to solve.

We can do anything we set our minds to. Change things before we even remember why we were ever upset about them in the first place.
